Gavin said: “On behalf of the Board, I would like to thank Alan and Sarah for their outstanding work over the last few years, giving DYW Borders governance and guidance. The world of work as we know it continues to evolve and an organisation like DYW Borders has to evolve to remain relevant and able to deliver outcomes for those it aims to support.”
Both Gavin and Lee-Anne bring a wealth of expertise and experience to their roles, and they are committed to advancing DYW Borders’ mission of empowering young people, parents, carers, employers, and those in education to help foster a stronger, more connected community in the Scottish Borders region.
Gavin continued: “With Lee-Anne and the other Board members, we will continue to build on what has been achieved and, with the Programme team, will deliver even more, supporting young people, parents, those in Education, and businesses.”
As a local implementation of the national Developing the Young Workforce programme, DYW Borders has been at the forefront of plans and activity to create meaningful opportunities and connections between young people and the world of work. The programme aims to equip young individuals with the skills, knowledge, and experiences necessary to thrive in the modern workplace by facilitating partnerships between educational institutions and local businesses.
