About

One of 21 Regional Groups across Scotland set up to bridge the gap between education and the world of work. Established in January 2017, we are an industry-led group with representation from key sectors and work in close partnership with the Scottish Borders Council Education Department and Borders College.

Who are we?

Based at Ettrick Riverside in Selkirk, we are a team of 9 who encourage all businesses, regardless of size or sector, to get involved.

Our 7 DYW School Coordinators are based in the nine secondary schools across the Scottish Borders, but we work with young people from the age of 3 to 24! We aim to strengthen links between business and education to help them be more work-ready and aware of the opportunities and pathways available to them.

The Board

While the team are busy working day to day across the region and within the high school cluster areas, overall guidance and governance of the programme is provided by our volunteer Board members. With a mix of representatives from the public, private and third sectors, from large organisations to SME businesses, our Board is diverse and representative of the employers from the Scottish Borders.
