At the end June and the academic year we brought together employers, educators, young people and partners from across the region to mark a milestone – 10 years of Developing the Young Workforce.
Held at Borders College, the DYW Borders Celebration Event was a chance to reflect on the progress made over the last decade, recognise what’s happening right now, and look ahead to what’s next.
With keynote speakers, panel discussions, school showcases and input from young people and employers, the event celebrated the collaborative effort that continues to shape career pathways for young people in the Borders.
In the 2024/25 academic year alone, DYW Borders delivered over 450 activities, supporting more than 28,700 student interactions – including nearly 1,700 at primary level. None of this would be possible without the 219 employers, partners and education providers who gave their time and insight to help connect young people with the world of work.
A huge thank you to everyone who’s been part of DYW over the past 10 years. Together, we’re helping more young people across the Borders see what’s possible, both in and beyond school.
